The Outreach Committee has supported a “Backpack Ministry” at our church for the last four years to provide food items to children in the community in need. These backpacks are filled with food items and sent home from school on the weekends with children in an effort to prevent hunger. We are very excited about this ministry.
Epworth UMC helps provide weekend backpacks of food for 36 elementary and middle school students throughout the district that have food insecurities. With the rising need comes rising costs so we're asking for your help! $5 will provide a child with nutritious meal and snack items to help them. It helps them not only to reduce hunger but helps them have the energy to be better students. Would you consider sponsoring a child for a week or two? Or for a semester? Every donation is appreciated!
The Outreach Committee and the Epworth United Church is blessed with kind hearts and many working hands, together we are reaching out to our community.
